1.Who introduced constructivism?

2.This is an effort to show that the construction of knowledge is governed by social historical and cultural contexts.

4.Give the five ways on how the teacher can employ the computer and discuss each.

>>> 5 ways that the teacher can employ the computer:

a)As an informative tool - The computer provides huge amount of information in various ways such as text. graphics, sound and video.

b)As a Communication tool - Computers serve as an informative tool not just in downloading relevant information but also in the composition of a presentation project on a certain subject as may be assigned by teacher.

c) As a Constructive tool - The computer itself can be used for manipulating information, visualizing one's understanding and building new knowledge.

d) As a Co-constructive tool - Learners can use constructive tools to work cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of new knowledge.

e) As Situating tool - Through virtual reality (RS) extension systems, the computer can create 3-D images on display to give the user a virtual environment feeling.

Learning Activity # 1

1. What are the three revolutions of education?
First - invention of the printing press
Second - introduction of the libraries
Third - invention of the computer

2. What is CAI? (Please give its background.)
Computer-Aided Instruction - (CAI, or "assisted", "learning", CAL) The use of (personal) computers for education and training. Computer Aided Instruction is mainly used in education. It can teach and train people in the use of machines, computers, learn on topics like history, mathematics or languages. Programs like this are mostly geared towards one single subject.

3. Give 5 examples of communication media.
telephone and cellular phone, computer ,broad cast radio, recorded media (books, newspapers), internet

4. Give 5 examples of audiovisual media.
films, videotapes and DVDs, audiotapes and audio CDs, multimedia CD-ROMs, slideshows

5. Contrast instructional media and educational communication media.
instructional media aids in the transference of information from one to another. For example, a teacher may use instructional materials to aid in the learning of subject matter for a class. These instructional materials could include:
Power Point presentations (visual aids), Books , Articles , Materials for project development. While educational communication media refers to a media that makes use of the storage and transmission channels or tools which is used in storing and delivering information or data. It is often referred to as synonymous with mass media or news media, but may refer to a single medium used to communicate any data for any purpose.

6. Give 5 examples of computer programs and their capabilities.
a) MS Word - used in encoding data and information.
b) MS Excel - used in computing grades, spreadsheets
c) MS Power Point - used in making presentations of your lesson of any presentations you want to create.
d) Google Chrome - one of the browser that is used for researching.
e) Adobe Photoshop - a big help in editing pictures, creating designs, making new styles of a certain thing.
